Carlsbad, New Mexico is the perfect family weekend get away. Carlsbad is located in southern New Mexico, on the Pecos River. The river is the place for family fun. There is a beach, with lifeguards for the kids, to enjoy the summer sunshine in. Only yards away is a large tree covered park Supplied with picknic tables and grills. During cooler or bad weather there is the Riverwalk Recreation Center, which is a beautiful old building full of free, family friendly activity. On the first floor are basketball courts, pingpong tables, raquetball courts, and a skate park to run off a little energy. For the more sedate, there are big screen T.V.s, fooseball, or belly dancing on tuesdays and thursdays.
